Position Overview
Personnel assigned to the Overseas Protection Operation (OPO) support security operations at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, Russia. These roles include Mission Guard, Bodyguard, and Bodyguard Translator positions, each responsible for supporting protective and security functions within the Embassy environment.
Duties include access control operations, screening procedures, vehicular inspections, patrol operations, close protection services, protective movement support, and administrative reporting. These positions operate under the direction of the Regional Security Officer (RSO) and require the ability to perform security functions in a controlled, high-security environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide close protection services for the Chief of Mission (COM)
- Conduct advance preparation for COM movements
- Operate armored and unarmored vehicles in support of protection operations
- Maintain required logbooks and administrative files in accordance with policy
- Staff static guard posts as directed by the RSO
- Support protective movement operations and coordination activities
- Prepare written reports, logs, and security documentation
Required Qualifications
- Clearance: Active Top-Secret clearance required
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizen
- U.S. License: Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record within the past three (3) years
- Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent

- Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in close protection assignments
- Experience providing close protection services
- Ability to operate armored and unarmored vehicles
- Ability to maintain administrative files and logs
- S3/R3 proficiency in Russian
- *Candidates will undergo language proficiency evaluation during the client approval process. Continued consideration and employment are contingent upon meeting required linguistic standards.
Physical Requirements
Additional Experience- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout secure facilities for extended periods of time
- Must be capable of working extended shifts in a secure operational environment
- Position may require occasional lifting and/or movement of moderate amounts of weight depending on assignment requirements
- Ability to use computers and standard office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Proficiency in communications and radio procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively using radio and security communication systems
- Strong written communication and reporting abilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a structured, high-security environment
Work Schedule & Conditions
- Standard Schedule: 12-hour shifts and upwards of 60 hours per week
- Overtime Hours: Opportunities for overtime may be available based on staffing and operational need
- Flexibility Requirements: Schedule and shift assignments are based on U.S. Embassy and RSO operational requirements
Compensation& Benefits
- Hourly Rates:
- Moscow Rate: $ 60.08 per hour
- This contract qualifies for training and overtime *adjusted rates and *quarterly bonuses.
- Moscow Rate: $ 60.08 per hour
