Internship Program

About the Internship:

IDS is looking for enthusiastic and hard-working interns to support company operations at it's headquarters in Arlington, VA for the spring and summer semesters. IDS interns can be expected to work across all areas of the company, including training, research, finance and proposals. Interns will work in close coordination with all levels of the IDS team in the execution of business across a wide variety of areas, including interagency training, social science research, and capacity building.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting training and research programs with national security research, government program coordination, and administrative/logistics
  • Supporting business development efforts with research, marketing, proposal development, and help engaging potential new government and private sector customers
  • Supporting communications activities with meeting organization, event staffing, and social media content development
  • Supporting IDS business activities by helping research customer requirements, gather and format data and requirements for proposals, and work on IDS policies and reports

Requirements:

  • In process or recently completed Bachelors or Masters, with relevant coursework in national security, international relations, or related areas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer and internet skills
  • Ability to work 25 - 30 hours a week.
