Training Associate

About the Position 
IDS is seeking a seeking a positive, outgoing & hard working entry-level Training Associate who will work in close coordination with the IDS Training Department Team in the execution of multiple training contracts in support of the United States Army, the United States Marine Corps, and the Foreign Service Institute.The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, be technically savvy and have a strong understanding of various social media platforms. This position is also responsible for supporting the management of the technical and administrative aspects of business development activities.

Tasks include:

  • Supports all department projects as necessary, including support for logistics and administrative arrangements for the field and support of short-term and long-term personnel.
  • Assists in the maintenance of Subject Matter Expert (SME) personnel database. 
  • Manages collection of personal data and correspond with respondents.
  • Supports the preparation of Training Department updates and briefings for Training Department meetings, including maintenance of training rotation calendar.
  • Assists with operational research such as last minute pricing quotes, SME feedback on logistics plans, rate negotiation with providers, etc.
  • Prepares documentation and logistics for trainers travelling on rotations.
  • Conducts business development research and assists in the proposal writing process.
  • Assists in summarizing customer requirements, formatting proposal documents such as resumes and past performance information, and data call responses.
  • Maintains all required program and project records and files (hard copies and electronic files) for all projects and programs.
  • Maintain multiple schedules simultaneousl.
  • Update monthly rotational reports to be sent to teaming partners/ primes.
  • Ability to multitask while utilizing analytical skill sets.


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Relations/Affairs, Political Science, Business Administration, or related degree.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in program management/assistance.
  • Ability to use the complete Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and be able to interact with customers and internal management/staff at all levels.
  • Must be detailed oriented, possess excellent organizational skills and be able to work independently with a minimal level of supervision as well as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with military culture and national security is preferred.
