Position Description

IDS is seeking a proven and ambitious business development manager to seek out and win new business. As a vital member of the business development team, this role requires the ability to lead the development and execution of adjacent and momentum business within the government, international and DoD sectors OCONUS and CONUS. The position will assume ownership of the business development process, from opportunity identification to bid submission as well as helping lead strategy and programs for the Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive new opportunities from Target, to Pursue and Bid, preparing and coordinating proposal responses, artifacts and supporting documentation from discovery to submission.
  • Develop, cultivate and maintain an effective customer base, a customer engagement plan and network to identify and grow new business opportunities for IDS International.
  • Identify growth opportunities that are nested in the IDS International strategic vision.
  • Develop teaming relationships to support capture activities.
  • Promote the mission, goals/objectives, capabilities, skills and differentiators of IDS International.
  • Identify customer capability gaps and align IDS International solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Support and assist in developing Business Development processes to identify, track, prioritize and manage business opportunities for near, mid and long-term growth objectives as defined by IDS leadership team.
  • Provide leadership for responsive bid/proposal teams to respond to competitive solicitations.
  • Support the executive team in developing new markets and objectives for the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least eight (8) years of relevant experience.                                                 
  • Minimum of six (6) years of recent business development experience.
  • Significant experience in/knowledge of US Government and Military.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of supervisory experience, including but not limited to mentoring, training, and guiding staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify emerging business trends resulting in strategy recommendations to senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to and build partnerships with customers, teaming partners, and within a firm/corporation.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed
