IDS is looking for experts to support our work with foreign governments to develop effective, professional, and transparent law enforcement capacity that protects human rights, combats corruption, and reduces the threat of transnational crime and terrorism, in support of U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives.

ICITAP works in three general types of environments, each requiring a unique approach:

  • Emerging democracies and developing countries.
  • Countries combating terrorism.
  • Countries undergoing stabilization and reconstruction or international peacekeeping (ICITAP has participated in the majority of U.S. and international peacekeeping operations, including those in Bosnia and Herzegovina, East Timor, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Iraq, Kosovo, and Panama).

OPDAT’s programs support the U.S. Government’s National Security Strategy as well as the Department’s law enforcement and justice policy goals.  This involves assisting foreign counterparts in developing and implementing capabilities to address and combat:

  • Terrorism.
  • Foreign Terrorist Fighters.
  • Terrorism Financing.
  • Money Laundering and Economic Crimes.
  • Organized Crime.
  • Corruption.
  • Cybercrime.
  • Intellectual Property Crimes.
  • Trafficking in Persons.
  • Trafficking in Narcotics.
  • Other Transnational Criminal Activities.

  • A degree from an accredited college.
  • Experience overseas.
  • Experience in Law Enforcement.
